Juice Cleanse Instructions

Things to Avoid

– Alcohol and Nicotine
– Meat and Seafood
– Dairy and Eggs
– Sugar and Processed foods
– Wheat and refined carbohydrates (bread, white rice, pasta, etc.)
– Caffeinated and diuretic drinks (green tea is a good substitute for coffee leading up to your cleanse)

Prior to starting your cleanse

The more prepared you are, the better your cleanse will be. For an optimal cleansing experience, we recommend you include these healthy habits during the three days leading up to your program:

To help purify your body before your cleanse arrives, begin each day by drinking a glass of warm water with the juice of one lemon and a maximum of one-half teaspoon of cayenne (optional). This increases the rate of detoxification by opening the circulatory system and alkalizing bodily fluids.

Make an extra effort to hydrate throughout the day with filtered non-carbonated water (at least two liters per day). Drinking water helps set the stage for a smoother cleanse because it allows your cells to eliminate toxins more easily and decreases tiredness while reducing food cravings.

Eliminating the following substances from your diet ahead of time will make it easier once your cleanse begins! If giving up wheat completely feels too drastic, try staying away from refined starches like white bread, white rice, and pasta. This may sound like a lot but your body will thank you for it in the end! Keep in mind that you will have plenty of other cleanse-friendly foods to eat.

Things to add

– Steamed vegetables
– Salads
– Fruits
– Smoothies (try and add a green vegetable like kale or spinach to your smoothies)
– Fresh juices
– Gluten-free grains like quinoa, amaranth and millet

During your juice cleanse

Every 3-Day Cleanse comes with fifteen 16 oz juices, specifically designed to provide the nutrients needed to sustain energy through the 3 day process. Important considerations:
– Make sure to refrigerate your juices as soon as possible.
– Because our juices are unpasteurized, it is essential that you start your cleanse the day that it arrives. Our juices have a shelf life of four days.
– Make sure to give the juices a good shake to ensure you get every bit of the vital nutrients it has to offer.
– Remember to always chew your juice. The chewing action mixes saliva with the juice, allowing your body to more easily absorb and utilize the nutrients.

How your day will look

Now you’re ready to drink your first juice! Starting in the morning, we recommend drinking your juices at intervals of about two to three hours and consuming your last juice, about two hours before bed. End your day right: At least an hour before bedtime, consume a cup or two of hot cleansing tea. Our juice cleanse is designed to replace meals and snacks, however, if this is your first cleansing experience, please feel free to grab a snack or two along the way.
We recommended items from the list above should you feel the urge to eat.

To ensure that your cleansing process is as effective and enjoyable as possible please make sure to drink plenty of water in between juices. It is important to avoid alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine. You may experience some detox symptoms such as fatigue or headaches. Every person’s body reacts differently when cleansing. You may or may not experience these detox symptoms. Either way it’s important to:
– Keep hydrating. Drink at least eight glasses of filtered non-carbonated water in addition to your juices. Herbal decaffeinated teas are another great option.
– Get plenty of rest. A cleanse can be tiring. Keep your schedule as light as possible and try to get to bed early! Listen to your body. It will tell you when to slow down.
– Take time to eliminate – During a cleanse your body releases accumulated toxins that may have built up for years. It is important to eliminate the toxins that are being released from your system during the cleansing process.

Ways to release the toxins

Take a detoxification bath: Your skin is the largest cleansing organ in the body. When you sweat, your skin eliminates more toxins and waste than the colon and kidneys combined! During your cleanse, try to soak with 1-2 cups of Epson salt, mineral salts or sea salts for about 15 minutes. The Epsom salts draw lactic acid out of the muscle and the sulfur elements help detoxify and draw the acid and toxins out of your body.
Visit a sauna: Spending about 30 minutes in a sauna will stimulate therapeutic sweating and you will allow the skin to act as a third kidney by eliminating toxins.
Dry Skin Brushing: Dry brushing will open up the pores of your skin and allow for optimal performance of your sweat glands. This can accentuate the process of eliminating acids from the cells in your body. Keep in mind that your skin can eliminate more than one pound of waste acid each day from your body. Dry brushing is especially effective after a shower, bath, or trip to the sauna.
Breathe properly: Getting fresh air is important for a healthy mind and body, but breathing properly is also an important factor that is often overlooked. Breathing from the diaphragm often accelerates the removal of physical and emotional waste and will help give you relief and clarity. This can also reduce anxiety and help remove the carbon dioxide from your respiratory system. Try taking a few seconds every day to relax and take a few deep breaths.

After your juice cleanse

Congratulations – you’ve hit the reset button and detoxified your system! Now, we want to make sure that you are prepared to maintain and maximize the effects.

You are still in a detox mode for a few days after ending your cleanse so be mindful of what you put into your system. Make sure to drink plenty of water and pace yourself as you slowly reintroduce simple, whole foods. We recommend starting with salads, smoothies, soups, and juices while avoiding processed foods and animal products. Optimal post-cleanse foods are the same as pre-cleanse diet suggestions:
Steamed vegetables, salads, smoothies, fresh juices and gluten-free grains like quinoa, amaranth and millet.

Finally, don’t forget to give yourself a pat on the back. You are on your way to a cleaner, healthier you!
